During the repair of the Peggau–Übelbach line, a section of track damaged by flooding was renewed at railway kilometer 9.648. The central element of the project was the replacement of an existing culvert on the Köppelbach stream with a new reinforced concrete frame bridge structure.

In addition to the construction of the new pedestrian bridge and the Vormark stop, the project included extensive superstructure, substructure, and hydraulic engineering work between km 9.4 and km 9.8. This included the dismantling of temporary existing structures, the channeling of the Köppelbach stream with an ecological pendulum ramp, and the restoration of the adjacent municipal road.

The construction work was carried out under special conditions in the vicinity of the railway and within a flood-prone water area. Coordinated water management and schedule management, as well as coordination with utility companies and authorities, were essential components of the project.

With the completion of the work, the operational safety of the line has been sustainably improved and the infrastructure adapted to current technical and ecological requirements.
