NÖVOG track renewal

The section of line between Rabenstein an der Pielach and Steinklamm on the Mariazell Railway was renovated in spring 2024 as part of a partial line closure in the affected section of line due to the condition in need of renovation.

The scope of the project included the entire track repositioning with underground, drainage and SFE renovation in the Rabenstein-Steinklamm section, km 25.141 to km 27.079, adaptation work on the railroad crossing at km 25.420 to the new track position and the reconstruction of the Königsbach bridge.

Zudem wurden aufgrund eines geplanten Halbstundentaktes auf der Mariazellerbahn Änderungen an der Trassierung vorgenommen, damit das VZG im genannten Abschnitt entsprechend erhöht werden kann. Da die Oberleitungsanlage in diesem Abschnitt erst vor kurzem (< 5 Jahre) zur Gänze erneuert wurde, ist die Trasse nur so weit abgeändert worden, dass keine neuen Oberleitungsmaste errichtet werden mussten. Die Fahrdrahtführung wurde jedoch an die neue Gleislage angepasst.
