In addition to the already constructed new IC service hall with office and catering building in Vienna Simmering, a second service hall is required at the ÖBB base due to the procurement of new Nightjet train sets. The new Dani 2 service and maintenance hall covers an area of 235m x 24m.
In the new hall, the office and meeting rooms will be constructed in a similar way to Hall IC.
For train maintenance, a continuous working pit will be built in the service hall, as well as a local working pit for each track and 8 lifting pits for the block train lifting system. A suspended, stationary roof working platform (250m) is being built above the working pit.
An employee walkway is being built under the maintenance hall, which connects to the new IC hall that has already been built.
Bored piles up to 12 m deep were installed under the hall foundations to transfer the load.
The hall construction consists of prefabricated concrete columns and glulam beams.
The service hall is designed as a warm roof construction.
A photovoltaic system will be installed over the entire roof area of the workshop.
