New construction of a university building for the Johannes Kepler University Linz. Local construction supervision on behalf of TDC-SKD ZT GmbH.

The "House of Schools 1", a new university building that will house the JKU Business School, is being constructed on the Johannes Kepler University campus in Linz. In addition to office space, there will be meeting rooms, rooms for tutorials and communication zones such as the generously proportioned first floor with the open atrium of the floors above. There are a total of 124 individual offices, 8 meeting rooms and 4 seminar rooms. In addition, storage and building services rooms as well as the sanitary facilities are located in the basement.
The building is designed as a reinforced concrete skeleton construction with bracing staircase and sanitary cores. The column grid is 10x10m. The atrium is covered by a steel and glass roof, the supporting structure of which is a steel girder grid. The mullion and transom façade has a glass proportion of 60% and includes a steel structure in front for sun protection. The façade and the flat roof are greened. A photovoltaic system with approx. 181 modules is mounted on the extensive greening of the flat roof.
The heat supply for the property is provided by a cascading brine/water heat pump system, which is located in the boiler room in the basement and has 3 buffer tanks. The primary energy is obtained from both a deep probe field and flat-plate collectors.
