Montanuniversität Leoben Hydrogen Research Center
New construction of the hydrogen research center of the Montanuniversität Leoben. Local construction supervision and BauKG on behalf of the Montanuniversität Leoben.

In order to strengthen Austria as a hydrogen research location, a new hydrogen research center is being built on the grounds of the University of Leoben in Leitendorf, south of the city center of Leoben, on an area of 6,571m², which will contribute to research into pyrolysis processes for the emission-free production of hydrogen.
The hydrogen research center consists of three floors with laboratories, individual offices and meeting rooms. The basement also houses storage and building services rooms as well as sanitary facilities and changing rooms. The underground transformer system is directly connected to the technical rooms. The office building is a solid construction made of reinforced concrete.
A 500 m² hall, which houses the research facility for producing hydrogen, is directly attached to the southern long side. The hall is designed as a basic steel construction with a rear-ventilated panel façade.
The photovoltaic system will be installed on the shed roof of the hall. In the outdoor area in front of the research center there is an asphalted truck maneuvering area and a parking lot with 16 parking spaces.
