A new maintenance hall is being built at the ÖBB workshop site in St. Pölten, which will primarily be used for the maintenance of electric multiple units (EMUs). In addition to three hall tracks, the project includes storage areas as well as office and social rooms for around 45 employees.

The new ETZ – Akku building comprises the construction of a multifunctional maintenance hall with three hall tracks for servicing various types of vehicles. The hall is equipped with comprehensive machinery such as crane systems, roof work platforms, swiveling overhead lines, and wheel and bogie technology, and is complemented by storage, office, and social areas.

At the same time, the existing hall (Object 127) will be extended on the south side. The extension will include additional work stations with assembly pits, modifications to the track system, and the expansion of the technical infrastructure to increase processing capacity.

The work is being carried out in close coordination with parallel trades and ongoing workshop operations. The focus is on coordinating construction processes, ensuring dust/noise protection measures, and the timely implementation of structural engineering, track construction, and technical upgrades.
