Construction activities

As part of the modernization of the Tauern line, the Dorfgastein and Bad Hofgastein railroad stations are currently the focus of intensive construction activity. The focus is on the construction and renovation of the platform facilities - a key element for safety, accessibility and comfort in rail operations.

Platform construction despite high groundwater levels

At Dorfgastein station, the high groundwater table posed a particular technical challenge. In order to create the conditions for the construction of the new platform, the jet grouting method (DSV) was used - a method for improving the subsoil in which cement suspension is injected into the ground using high pressure. This measure was used to secure the excavation pit for a stable and dry construction pit.

Bad Hofgastein: Barrier-free platform access completed

Work is also progressing according to plan in Bad Hofgastein. The barrier-free access to the main platform has already been completed - a visible sign of the successful implementation of the modernization measures. Further work at the station is also consistently geared towards the requirements of modern, user-friendly railroad infrastructure.

Modernization of the platforms

The construction of platforms combines numerous specialist areas: Ground engineering, structural engineering, traffic and safety requirements as well as integration into ongoing rail operations. Together, they create modern interfaces between rail and passengers - robust, safe and future-proof.

Realization in a joint venture with the Stoik office

Both projects are being realized in collaboration with Büro Stoik (ARGE TM3-STOIK). The partnership-based cooperation enables efficient and high-quality implementation of the measures - even under challenging conditions.
